Tumblr is a free microblogging site. According to Wikpedia, Tumblr hosts over 197.3 million blogs, more than 95 million posts are created on the site each day and "the service is most popular with the teen and college-aged user segments with half of Tumblr's visitor base being under the age of 25."
As soon as the news broke about the shooting of Mike Brown in Ferguson and the peaceful protest that followed, the kids were immediately all over what was happening there and they are staying on it.
Below the orange flourish is a scant sampling of the numerous posts about Ferguson. The kids are paying attention, they are angry, they are well aware of the historical context of these civil rights abuses and they are organizing and protesting.
Or as they put it. They #stay woke.

Even with Chuck Todd as the new host of Meet the Press, I don't think you would get this savvy analysis about the facts on the ground in Ferguson.
Keep in mind that more than half of the users are under 25 and they are engaged in this story about civil rights in spite of restricted, scant and slanted mainstream media coverage.
They are a force to be reckoned with now. The media and politicians need to wake up, take note and listen to them. Whereas the kids, let's hope they continue to stay woke.
